In the scope of the "Mares Circulares" competition, two winning projects were selected that aim to raise awareness of the marine waste issue and promote the circular economy.
The contest "Mares Circulares" in Schools 2020/2021" had its first edition this school year, 2020-2021, with the aim of promoting in the school community a greater awareness of the importance of the ocean, as well as encouraging the reduction of marine litter and promoting the circular economy in society.
This contest aimed to congratulate and reward the best projects developed by students of the 3rd cycle and High School and Professional Schools in the scope of ocean literacy and conservation.
Four schools participated in the competition, with the presentation of 12 projects.
The jury of this competition was made up of representatives from LPN, Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), and Escola Azul.
WINNERS
The winner of the contest, in this category, was the project "REDUCES WASTE, PROTECTS THE SEA, PROMOTES CIRCULAR ECONOMY", from class 10ºC of the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, in Faro.
The winner of the contest, in this category, was the project "POLLUCEAN – Ocean Pollution", created by the 8th grade classes of Aquilino Ribeiro Secondary School.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
We thank all the schools, students and teachers who were involved in this initiative and submitted their projects. Soon we will have news about the edition of the contest for the 2021/2022 school year!
