As part of the cooperation protocol with EPAL, LPN organized the online session "The importance of water in nature" with 10 schools in the municipalities of Sintra, Lisbon, Almada and Caldas da Rainha, involving more than 425 students from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of education.
In this session, the students were able to understand the distribution of water on the planet, its distribution and use by living beings, how water is used in our daily lives, and had the opportunity to discuss and suggest ways for a more sustainable use of the water we use.
Given the several requests from various schools in the country, LPN also opened the possibility for 7 more schools in the north of the country (Braga, Porto and Póvoa do Varzim) to have this session, with the participation of 384 more students. In parallel, 40 4th grade students from Moinhos do Restelo School also had a session on this topic, serving as a test for an extension of this activity to 1st cycle schools.
This theme is of great relevance, not only as a complement to the school curriculum, but for the personal development of each one, as environmentally responsible citizens.
